Jen Kerney, NP is the Director of Clinical Operations for the Transplant Services at University of California, San Francisco Health. In her current role as director, Jen is responsible for clinical leadership and strategy of the lung, liver, kidney and pancreas transplant service lines for adult and pediatrics. She leads a team of five managers who oversee over 160 transplant staff. She received her bachelors of science in nursing and masters of science in nursing from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD (Let’s go O’s!).
She is an acute care nurse practitioner and spent ten years managing the care of liver transplant recipients in the ICU and on the transplant floor at the Johns Hopkins Hospital before joining UCSF Transplant in 2014. UCSF Health performs over 700 transplants, placing it in the top 5 programs nationally by volume. UCSF Health has the largest kidney transplant and liver waitlists in the nation, and as a result, organ allocation policy is of particular interest to Jen. She is a past member of the UNOS Liver & Intestine committee and presently serves on advisory boards for two organ procurement organizations – Donor Network West and Sierra Donor Services.
